The labour market in November 2016

Registered unemployment was 2,1% in November  2016 or up from 2,0% í October 2016, but down from 2,7% in November 2015.

There were in average 3.583 unemployed in November 2016 or up with 250 from October 2016.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 1,8% in November 2016, or up from 1,6% in October 2016.  The unemployment by women was 2,5% in November 2016 or up from 2,4% in October 2016.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 471 young 18-24 years unemployed in November 2016 or up from 471 in October 2016 but down from 709 in November 2015.

The long term unemployed:

There were 917 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in November 2016 or up from 912 in October 2016.

Open vacancies:

There were 257 open vacancies in November 2016 or down from 357 in October 2016 and down with 5 from November 2015.

Work permits:

There were 43 new open work permits issued in November 2016 or down with 9 new work permits from October 2016.

The unemployment forecast for December 2016:

It is expected that the unemployment rate will increase in December 2016 and be between 2,0% and 2,2%.
