The labour market in May 2018

Registered unemployment was 2,2% in May 2018 or down from 2,3% in April 2018 and up from 1,9% in May 2017.   There were in average 4.090 unemployed in May 2018 or down with 101 from April 2018.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 2,1% in May 2018, or down from 2,2% in April 2018.  The unemployment by women was 2,3% in May 2018 or down from 2,4% in April 2018.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 527 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in May 2018 or down from 567 in April 2018.

The long term unemployed:

There were 913 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in May 2018, or down from 922 in April 2018.

Open vacancies:

There were 187 new incoming open vacancies in May 2018 or up from 182 new incoming open vacancies in April 2018.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 158 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in May 2018 but 112 in April 2018. There were 31 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in May 2018. These foreign service companies employed 210 workers in May 2018.

There were 30 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in May 2018.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 1.574 workers in May 2018.

The unemployment forecast for June 2018:

It is expected that the unemployment in June 2018 will decrease due to seasonal reasons and be between 2,0% and 2,2%.
