Yes, an employer can receive a general recruitment grant of up to a maximum of 342.000 kr. per month.

2. Will a company get a full grant of 527.000 kr., if my salary is 400.000 kr. per month?

3. Where can I apply for the jobs from the “Let’s work” campaign?

Employers will be encouraged to advertise the available jobs on My pages’ for jobseekers, where they will be visible to those jobseekers who fulfil the requirements

4. How do I see if I have used 12 or 24 months of my benefit period?

On your most recent payslip on My pages, you can see how many months you have used of your current benefit entitlement period.

5. A certain employer wants to hire me without having to advertise the job, can they still receive the recruitment grant?

Yes, providing that you and the employer fulfil the conditions. When the employer registers the job on My pages, they can submit your information and a copy of the employment contract. In that case the job will not be advertised.

No, individuals who receive partial benefits due to a reduced employment rate are not eligible to receive a recruitment grant to work for an employer.

Partial benefits

1. How do I apply?

The company logs into ‘My pages’ for employers  and selects ‘Application regarding reduced employment grant’ (Umsókn um styrk vegna hlutabóta) on the front page.

2. I can not find the name of the employee on the list in ‘My pages’?

If the employee does not appear on the list, the employee in question has not been paid unemployment benefits alongside reduced employment ratio (hlutabætur)in April and/or May 2021. Therefore, the employee does not fulfill the conditions for the grant payment due to an increased employment ratio, and the company can not apply for the grant for the employee in question.

3. What does it mean for an employee to enjoy full holiday entitlement during the current holiday year?

This means that the employee has earned holiday entitlements in accordance with having never been in a reduced employment ratio. If an employee has been in a 100% employment ratio, but has been reduced 50% and received partial benefits in return, the calculation of accrual holiday entitlement for the current holiday year must be corrected and calculated on the basis of the employee being in a 100% employment ratio.

We encourage employers to contact their union or the employers’ association for further instructions regarding this matter.
