The scope and objective of the Act on Maternity/Paternity Leave and Parental Leave

Scope
In Article 1, of Act No. 144/2020 on Maternity/Paternity and Parental Leave (ffl), it is stipulated that the Act applies to:

• Parents’ rights to maternity/paternity leave and parental leave in the domestic labour market. It applies to parents who are employees or self-employed.
• Parents’ rights to maternity/paternity grant not participating in the labour market or in an employment ratio less than 25% and studying full-time.

Objective
In Article 2, of the Act, it is stipulated that the objective of this Act is:

• To ensure that the child spends time with both parents
• It is also the aim of the Act to make it possible for parents to combine work and family commitments.
