Register a job
Employers can request employment services from The Directorate of Labour´s service centres by visiting ‘My Pages’ for employers with either an IceKey or electronic ID and registering a job.
The employer can choose whether to advertise the job on The Directorate of Labour’s website or have the directorate’s employment consultants find an employee for the company
The employment consultant searches for a suitable employee and sends relevant CVs to the employer.
Employers can give their employees authorisation to visit the employer’s ‘My pages’. Information regarding providing authorisation is available at island.is.
The Directorate of Labour offers recruitment grants that a company can apply for to train new employees from the unemployment registry. Recruitment grants are a collaboration between The Directorate of Labour and companies, municipalities, public institutes or non- governmental organizations that have the opportunity to hire jobseekers with the support of the Unemployment Insurance Fund. Further information on recruitment grants can be found here.
Jobseekers have a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills and most companies should be able to find suitable employees. The main condition for hiring a jobseeker with the recruitment grant is that the company must be registered and in secure operations and has not laid off employees in the recent months.
