Application for an adoption grant
Grants shall be applied for within six months of the confirmation of a foreign adoption in Iceland, or the issuing of an adoption permit according to legislation on adoption. Entitlement to an adoption grant expires at the end of this period.
Application for payments
- Adoptive parents shall apply for an adoption grant by filling the form: Application for an adoption grant.
- Supporting documents required with the application:
1. Pre-approval issued by the District Commissioner according to legislation on adoption.
2. Confirmation letter from a foreign governmental body on the adoption stamped/signed by the District Commissioner.
