Do you have a business idea that you want to develop?
The Directorate of Labour and The Innovation Center of Iceland are offering a workshop for female entrepreneurs of foreign origin in the fall of 2017. The project received a grant from the Immigration Development fund last spring. W.O.M.E.N in Iceland is collaborating in the project.
The workshop is for women of foreign origin who want to work on their business plan. It is not a requirement to own a company but it is best to have a well-developed idea and that the intention is to start a company. The workshop will consist of modules such as entrepreneurship, business strategy, marketing, internet marketing, finance plans, taxes and wages. Also training in soft skills will be offered, such as goal setting, time management, how to increase your network, effective communication, how to strengthen self-esteem and work on strengths, human resources and negotiation skills.
After the training, all participants will introduce their business plans and then receive certificates.
The workshop starts on the 4th of September and will last for 14 weeks. It will take place at NMÍ headquarters in Keldnaholt and will be on Mondays from 13:00-16:00.
Participants should have a good knowledge of English and Icelandic. The training material will be in Icelandic, but the workshop itself will be delivered in English.
The workshop is free of charge but participants are required to have at least 80% attendance to be able to receive the certificate.
The deadline for applications is 30th of August 2017.
A meeting to introduce the workshop will be held on the premises of W.O.M.E.N at Túngata 14, 101 Reykjavík, (Hallveigarstaðir) on the 25th of August at 17:00-18:00.
