The labour market in May 2019

Registered unemployment was 3,6% in May 2019 or down from 3,7% in April 2019 and up from 2,2% in May 2018. There were in average 6.767 unemployed in May 2019 or dwon with 36 from April 2019.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment by men was 3,5% in May 2019, or down from 3,6% in April 2019.  The unemployment by women was 3,7% in May 2019 or down from 3,8% in April 2019.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 786 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in May 2019 or down from 860 in April 2019.

The long term unemployed:

There were 1.259 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in May 2019, or up from 1.225 in April 2019.

Open vacancies:

There were 238 new incoming open vacancies in May 2019 or up from 209 new incoming open vacancies in April 2019.

Foreign workers:

There were in total 143 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in May 2019 or down from 149 in April 2019. There were 34 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in May 2019. These foreign service companies employed 198 workers in May 2019.

There were 24 Temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in May 2019.

These Temporary-work agencies hired out 910 workers in May 2019.

The unemployment forecast for June 2019:

It is expected that the unemployment in June 2019 will decrease due to seasonal reasons and be between 3,3% and 3,5%.
