December bonus for jobseekers.
Ásmundur Einar Daðason, Minister of Social Affairs and Children, has signed a regulation regarding the December bonus payment to jobseekers who are insured within the unemployment insurance system.
The maximum amount of the December bonus is ISK 86.853. Additionally, an extra 6% of the undiminished December bonus is paid for each dependent child, or ISK 5.211.
Jobseekers who confirm their job search between the 20th of November and the 3rd of December 2020 and are insured under the Unemployment Insurance Act during the month of November are entitled to the December bonus. This applies to both those who are receiving general unemployment benefits and those who receive unemployment benefits alongside reduced employment ratio.
