Unemployment by gender:
The unemployment rate in August was 5,3% for men and 5,8% for women, or down from 5,8% for men in July 2021 and down from 6,5% for women in July 2021.
The unemployment by young people:
There were 1.097 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in August 2021 or down from 1.225 in July 2021.
The long term unemployed:
There were 5.083 long term unemployed (over 1 year) general unemployment in August 2021 or down from 5.361 in July 2021.
Open vacancies:
There were 908 new incoming open vacancies in August 2021 or down from 1.123 new incoming open vacancies in July 2021.
Foreign workers:
There were 236 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in August 2021 down from 240 issued work permits in July 2021. There were 33 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in August 2021. These foreign service companies employed 226 workers in August 2021.
There were 20 temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in August 2021.
These temporary-work agencies hired out 440 workers in August 2021.
The unemployment forecast for September 2021:
It is expected that the unemployment in September 2021 will fall and be between 5,1% and 5,4%.
