The labour market in February 2022

The unemployment rate in February was as expected unchanged from January or 5,2%.

There were in average 9.543 unemployed in February 2022.

Unemployment by gender:

The unemployment rate in February was 5,3% for men or down from 5,4% in January but was unchanged for women from January or 5,0%.

The unemployment by young people:

There were 1.057 young, aged 18-24 years unemployed in February 2022 or down with 19 from January.

The long term unemployed:

There were 3.439 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in February 2022 or down with 140 from January.

Open vacancies:

There were 424 new incoming open vacancies in February 2022 or down from 445 new incoming open vacancies in January.

Foreign workers:

There were 183 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in February 2022 down from 201 issued work permits in January.  There were 29 foreign service companies registered to Directorate of Labour in February 2022.  These foreign service companies employed 164 workers in February 2022.

There were 16 temporary-work agencies registered to Directorate of Labour in February 2022.

These temporary-work agencies hired out 358 workers in February 2022.

The unemployment forecast for March 2022:

It is expected that the unemployment in March 2022 will decrease and be between 4,8% and 5,1%.
