The labour market in November 2022 and correction of unemployment figures for June to October 2022
There were on average 6.184 unemployed in November 2022.
Unemployment by gender:
The unemployment rate in November was 3,3% for male and 3,4% for female.
The unemployment of young people:
There were 565 young people, aged 18-24 years unemployed in November 2022.
The long term unemployed:
There were 2.286 long term unemployed (over 1 year) in November 2022. In November 2021 the number of long term unemployed was 4.083, so it went down by 1.797 from the previous year (2021).
Foreign workers:
There were 379 work permits (all types of work permits) issued in November 2022. There were 44 foreign service companies registered at The Directorate of Labour in November 2022. These foreign service companies employed 262 workers in November 2022.
There were 20 temporary-work agencies registered at The Directorate of Labour in November 2022.
These temporary-work agencies hired out 754 workers in November 2022.
The unemployment forecast for December 2022:
It is expected that the unemployment in December 2022 will not change considerably from November and be between 3,2% and 3,4%.
In mid-May The Directorate of Labour adopted a new computer system for The Unemployment Insurance Fund. When these changes were made, data from an older database was transferred to a new database and its construction is considerably different from the older one. As all statistics are still being adapted to the new system, the data in the report must be interpreted as tentative.
It has now become apparent that the number of unemployed is too low in the statistics from June to October 2022.

June 2022: The average number of unemployed was 7.038 and the unemployment ratio was 3,5%.
July 2022: The average number of unemployed was 6.767 and the unemployment ratio was 3,4%.
August 2022: The average number of unemployed was 6.619 and the unemployment ratio was 3,4%.
September 2022: The average number of unemployed was 6.127 and the unemployment ratio was 3,2%.
October 2022: The average number of unemployed was 6.133 and the unemployment ratio was 3,3%.
