Unemployment by gender:
The unemployment rate for men in July was 3,1%, the same as in June. The unemployment rate for women was 3,2% in July, also the same as in June.
Unemployment among young adults:
There were 690 young adults, aged 18-24 years unemployed in July 2024, up from 655 in June.
Long-term unemployment
There were 1.299 long-term unemployed (unemployed longer than 12 months) at the end of July 2024. In June there were 1.272 long-term unemployed.
Foreign workers:
There were 126 work permits issued in July 2024.
There were 45 foreign service companies registered at The Directorate of Labour in July 2024, posting 302 workers.
There were 18 temporary work agencies registered at The Directorate of Labour in July 2024, with
584 workers.
Forecast for August 2024:
It is expected that the unemployment rate will remain unchanged or increase slightly and be between 3,1% and 3,3% in August.
