Unemployment by gender:
The unemployment rate for men in August was 3,2%, up from 3,1% in July. The unemployment rate for women was also 3,2% in August, the same as in July.
Unemployment among young adults:
There were 689 young adults, aged 18-24 years unemployed in August 2024, down from 690 in July.
Long-term unemployment
There were 1.369 long-term unemployed (unemployed longer than 12 months) at the end of August 2024. In July there were 1.299 long-term unemployed.
Foreign workers:
There were 248 work permits issued in August 2024.
There were 43 foreign service companies registered at The Directorate of Labour in August 2024, posting 347 workers.
There were 18 temporary work agencies registered at The Directorate of Labour in August 2024, with
593 workers.
Forecast for September 2024:
It is expected that the unemployment rate will remain unchanged or increase slightly and be between 3,2% and 3,4% in September.
